Fall Weekend Trip: Rouster's Apple House in Milford, Ohio

A long standing tradition in my family is to visit Rouster's Apple House in Milford, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. I went year after year as a child and now I go year after year with my own children.

It hasn't changed a bit when you visit! The apple orchards can be seen before you get to the apple house! You pull in and park in a tiny parking lot...walk in only to find tons of varieties of apples! If you go on a frigid fall day, the fireplace warms the entire place. You can sip on a free sampling of cider...mmmm, mmmmm, good! Today, however, was 86 degrees in Cincinnati and so there was no fire! Instead they were handing out "cider pops" to all of the children!

The apple orchard! Today we tried "krispy" apples! They are FABULOUS, a great snack, small apple just perfect for snacking on!

The Apple House is now open Tues. thru Sun from 10-6 & closed all day on Mondays. In our market we are presently selling Golden Supreme, Red & Golden Delicious, McIntosh, Cortland, Gala, Grimes Golden, Jonathan, Empire, Jonagold, Ozark Gold & Krispy apples, Bartlett pears, freshly pressed cider, fall decorations & all the items in our country cupboards. In our freezer we have frozen tart cherries, frozen blueberries & frozen red raspberries available. We are presently taking orders for MI cranberries. Call the market at 625-5504 during market hours to place your order. To answer a question we are often asked: We are NOT a U-Pick apple orchard. Our hired pickers pick the apples that we wash & bag for sale in our farm market.
