The three Magi are related to the Christmas Star History. The reliable account about the star that helped the three wise men to find the route that led them to the dwelling place of Jesus Christ at the time of his birth is found in the Book of Matthew 2 of the Bible.

The Christmas Star History finds its reference in King James's translation of the Bible as it states, "Lo, the star went before them, till it came and stood over where Baby Jesus was lying'. This has given rise to the conclusion that the star was probably some kind of a beam of light that guided the three Magi. So it is taken into account that it would not have been possible for any astronomical phenomenon to perform the function of the star, that is to show the three men the right track. Therefore it is suggested that the star must have been a manifestation of God's glory. Other translations of the Bible, one of which is the New International version also points out that the, "star went ahead of them (the three magi) until it stopped over the place where the child was". This clears the fact to a certain extent that the star appeared in the sky to guide the three men and disappeared when they arrived at their destination.

It needs to be mentioned that the Greek word Aster is a generalized term than our English Star. It can refer to any kind of heavenly body that is, it may refer to a star or a planet, an asteroid, comet or even a meteor. But this particular interpretation that it was a star in the real sense of the term is consistent with all the facts presented. Get ready, the holiday decorating is just around the corner!

This large wreath is 30 inches in diameter. I actually should call it a mega, large wreath:) I love to hang these outside, on the exterior of my house, under a covered porch, throughout the holiday season. It's fun to have a flood light in red, green or blue directed up toward it! It's a fun little outside decoration!

What a huge honor to be included in this 4th of July themed summer edition of Etsy Finds! My patriotic fabric rag wreath is featured!

Handcrafted patriotic wreath, 16 inch round wreath, 4th of July wreath, red white and blue summer wreath, fabric rag wreath.

Handmade from a variety of my designer fabrics. I often combine my rag decor with coordinating grosgrain ribbons to add texture and depth to the wreaths. My handmade wreaths are made by me using my favorite fabrics.

Each of the wreaths are carefully constructed. They take from start to finish anywhere from about 2 hours to create. I tend to be a perfectionist and have a critical eye for knowing when it is "just right".

hanging:: This wreath hangs from 1.5" grosgrain ribbon attached in coordinating star prints.

My large 16 inch fabric rag wreath is featured in a fabulous rustic themed treasury on etsy!
This rustic style rag wreath is probably my favorite style of circular wreath. It is completely random, using about 30-50 different designer fabrics that don't necessarily even coordinate. But, in the end, when it is all put together, the wreath is exquisite. The mix of textures, prints and colors results in a simple yet sophisticated wreath.

These are not your mom's refrigerator magnets!
These are my handmade button magnets for the fridge...just perfect for giving the kitchen a pop of color! The buttons are large 2.5 inch in diameter. The smaller buttons on top are securely attached and all coordinate with the base color. The magnets are so strong that you can literally hold about 8 sheets of paper under them! Each of the magnets comes individually wrapped in a clear pillow box container with ribbon. They make the perfect little gifts!

Add a newsletter box to your facebook fan page!

I just added my newsletter sign up box to my various "facebook fan pages" and here is how I did it:

1. Go to the application "FBML"
http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=4949752878
Click on "add to my page"

2. A box appears titled "Add Static FBML to your Page"
Click on as many or as few of your fan pages you want to add this box too...(btw...you can also add several of these FBML boxes to EACH fan page so you can put multiple widgets, etc...onto your page)

3. In facebook, go to your "pages" area.
Click on your fan page. On your home page, just under your avatar picture, you will click on "edit page".

You will be taken to a list off all of the applications you have working on your page. Scroll down until you see the "FBML" box.

Click on the pencil to edit.

4. In a separate window, log into whatever newsletter service you use (bravenet, vertical response, cc) and obtain the coding for your specific box.

Copy the coding.
Back in the edit box for your "FBML" box, come up with a name you want to use: "Newsletter Sign Up" or whatever you want. Then, in the large box, you can paste that newsletter coding right there.
(***hint: I played around with the "width"...It seemed to me that a width of 185 or 190px worked well)

Click on save.

5. Go back to your fan page home page. To make it easier for your fans to find the form, you can add it as a navigation tab. Just click the "+" icon in the top navigation list, and select your new form from the list.

**You have two options of what to do with the newsletter box. You can leave it at the top OR you can also add that box to your sidebar if you prefer!

Now your facebook fans can sign up for news as well, all in one place!

How to add additional FBML boxes to your fan page::

(Above, I mentioned that you can add multiple FBML boxes to your fan page. You can.)

-To add additional boxes, go back to that "edit page" link that is just under your avatar photo.

-Scroll down to the FBML application again and click on "edit". Your box will come up.

-Scroll all the way down to where you see "add another FBML box". Click on that and you are on your way to adding another!

This handmade wreath was created by me using a double rail wreath form and Michael Miller designer fabrics. BE sure to check out photograph 5 in the pictures to see what the fabric looked like before I cut it down. It is a blend of reds, greens and a beautiful flower print on brown fabric.

size:: 14 inch round wreath
colors:: brown, reds and greens
hanging:: This wreath hangs from the back.

Each of the wreaths are carefully constructed. They take from start to finish anywhere from about 2 hours to create. I tend to be a perfectionist and have a critical eye for knowing when it is "just right".

My Meadowsweet fabric rag wreath is also featured in a lovely gallery on flickr thanks to The Happy Turtle!

make the tea mix::
entire bottle of tang
3/4 cup instant tea mix
2 small envelopes of instant lemonade
4 tbsp cinnamon
3 tbsp cloves
1 1/2 cup sugar

mix together in large bowl. Store in air tight container. Add 3 or 4 tbsp to your mug before filling with hot water.

When I am sick, I like my tea strong....I use 4 to 6 tbsp in my mug with hot water.
